How to Split a PDF
Splitting breaks one PDF into several files — by page range, by a fixed count, or one page at a time. It is how a single scan of fifty receipts becomes fifty individual documents.
Step by Step
- Open the Split PDF tool and load your document.
- Choose the split mode: page ranges, split every page, or a fixed number of parts.
- Enter ranges with standard notation, for example 1-5, 6-10, 12.
- Preview the thumbnails to confirm each range covers exactly the pages you intended.
- Run the split; the tool builds one file per part.
- Download the parts together as a ZIP archive.
- Open two of the parts and verify the boundary — the last page of one and the first of the next should be where you expected.
Tips
- Count pages first: ranges that overlap or skip a page are the most common mistake.
- Split every page is the quickest way to file a stack of invoices that arrived as one long scan.
